• 75, 150 and 300 mg are the labelled clindamycin-equivalent amounts per capsule. They do not state capsules per day and do not permit self-substituting several smaller capsules for a larger one, opening a capsule or assembling a course from a total milligram number.
• The current label says to take the capsules with a full glass of water and at least 30 minutes before lying down to reduce oesophageal irritation. • The boxed warning explains that C. difficile-associated diarrhoea can occur, may be severe and can appear after antibacterial treatment has ended. Severe, persistent or bloody diarrhoea, marked abdominal pain, fever, dehydration, weakness or another acute serious concern needs prompt local medical care; do not self-use an antidiarrhoeal medicine to mask it.
