• First check CREON, pancrelipase, delayed-release capsule and lipase USP units per capsule. 3,000, 6,000, 12,000, 24,000 and 36,000 are not milligrams and are not a rule for self-exchanging, assembling or reducing different capsules; the label handles use together with individual factors and diet.
• “Delayed release” means the capsule contains enteric-coated pellets. The label's handling text for this exact product includes swallowing whole and not crushing or chewing, with separate limited wording for swallowing difficulty. It is not permission to split, crush, chew, divide pellets for later use, store a mixture or replace with another pancreatic enzyme product.
• The label explicitly cautions against treating another pancreatic enzyme product as a self-substitute for CREON. With different strengths, older packs, another enzyme product, supplements or multiple chronic medicines at home, have a pharmacist or prescribing team review every actual pack, prescription and complete medicine list; do not self-combine, alternate or convert from “all are enzymes,” colour or unit numbers.
• With persistent or marked abdominal pain, bloating, vomiting, rash/breathing trouble, mouth pain or another acute serious concern, use local urgent or established care; do not wait for a webpage or self-stop, make up, alter capsule contents or change products because of a concern.
