- The label carries a boxed malignancy warning, and chronic immunosuppression is associated with lymphoma and other risks. This is not an ordinary medicine to self-start, increase, rotate or combine with another immunosuppressant.
- Bone-marrow suppression can alter white cells, platelets and other blood cells. The label requires regular CBC and platelet monitoring. Unusual bleeding or bruising, fever or infection signs require prompt contact with the care team; the site cannot interpret tests and replace care.
- Reduced TPMT or NUDT15 activity can raise the risk of severe, life-threatening myelotoxicity. The label also states that genotype or phenotype testing cannot replace blood-count monitoring. Testing, interpretation and changes belong to the clinical team.
- Serious bacterial, viral, fungal, protozoal or opportunistic infection can occur. New neurological symptoms also require consideration of rare but serious PML. Do not rely on a website or self-stop transplant or immune therapy; promptly contact the responsible team.
