- The 0.5, 1 and 2 mg figures are labelled amounts per tablet, while 100 tablets is the bottle count. Do not add these numbers or calculate today's tablet count from remaining tablets or symptoms.
- The current label directs swallowing the tablet whole with water. The 0.5 mg score is an exact-product clue, not universal permission to halve it; the current 1 mg and 2 mg products are unscored.
- Opioids, alcohol, other benzodiazepines, sleep medicines, sedating antihistamines and other CNS depressants may add effects. The label warns that opioid co-use can cause profound sedation, respiratory depression, coma and death; marked somnolence, slowed breathing, altered awareness or inability to wake requires local emergency services.
- Continued use can produce physical dependence. Abrupt stopping or rapid reduction can cause life-threatening acute withdrawal reactions, including seizures. Tapering must be individualised by a professional and cannot use one-for-one milligram conversion from VALIUM, XANAX or another benzodiazepine.
