• Check NAMZARIC, both ingredients, 7/10, 14/10, 21/10 or 28/10 mg, the exact NDC, extended-release capsule and target market together. The number before the slash is memantine hydrochloride and the number after it is donepezil hydrochloride; this is not mathematical division or two separable medicines.
• The current label says the capsule may be swallowed intact. Under this exact product's labelled conditions it may also be opened, with all contents sprinkled on applesauce and swallowed immediately without chewing; only part must not be used and the dose must not be divided. This product-specific exception does not mean another extended-release capsule may be opened and is not an instruction from this site for anyone to do so.
• NAMZARIC already contains memantine and donepezil. If the medicine list also includes NAMENDA, NAMENDA XR, ARICEPT, another memantine/donepezil product or a cognition-related medicine, have a pharmacist or prescriber review duplicate ingredients, dosage forms and the prescribed transition from the complete ingredient list before any change; do not self-add, alternate or stop any pack.
