How this medicine works

How enalapril works: a prodrug converted to enalaprilat, then ACE inhibition
- Sharing the ACE-inhibitor class does not make enalapril self-combinable, milligram-convertible or alternate-day interchangeable with captopril or lisinopril; ARBs and sacubitril/valsartan also require exact medicine- and current-label review.
- Dry cough, dizziness, weakness, urine change or an abnormal test cannot be attributed from mechanism alone and is not a reason to self-stop, redose or change to another blood-pressure medicine; take the actual pack and complete medicine list to a professional.
