- Check ZITHROMAX, azithromycin, the exact form, stated strength per tablet or per 5 mL, measuring device and target market together. 250 mg or 500 mg identifies an exact product; it is not a web answer to how many tablets or millilitres anyone should use today.
- A tablet and oral suspension may both contain azithromycin while having different labelled units, reconstitution, storage and measuring requirements. Do not self-convert, combine strengths, extend or restart based on a name, total milligrams, a household spoon or another person's prescription.
- The label says antibacterial medicines should be used only for infections proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria.
