• Check ZOLOFT, sertraline, tablet or oral concentrate, labelled strength/concentration per unit and target market together. A shared generic name does not make tablet count, millilitres, dropper markings or another-market products self-convertible.
• The FDA label has product-specific dilution requirements for the oral concentrate. Do not treat it as an ordinary ready-to-swallow liquid or apply instructions from another syrup, drop or oral liquid. The current label and pharmacist guidance for the exact product take priority.
• The label has warnings involving MAOIs, other serotonin-affecting medicines and multiple co-medications. Pain, cough/cold, migraine, sleep, herbal and other psychiatric products all belong on the complete medicine list; do not self-combine or replace merely because names differ.
• Starting, tapering, stopping and changing to another psychiatric medicine need a plan from the prescribing team. With marked agitation, altered awareness, severe symptoms or acute self-harm risk, use local urgent and medical-support pathways rather than self-changing treatment from a webpage.
